John Scott, Non-Executive Director

Jack is a petroleum engineer with over 35 years experience. His early career was with British Gas plc in London and Pennzoil Company in Houston. From 1986 until 1994 he was Reservoir Engineering Manager for Ranger Oil (Canada) working on their North Sea projects and in 1994 he joined Tullow Oil plc as Petroleum Engineering Manager where he assumed responsibility for all of Tullow’s field developments and reservoir engineering projects. On retiring from Tullow in 2006, Jack became a non-executive director of Blackstairs Energy: he also advises the company on specific petroleum engineering projects and new business developments.

Jack holds a B. Sc. (Hons) in Geology from London University and a M.Sc. in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering from Imperial College, London. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Society of Professional Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
