Oil and Gas

Blackstairs is currently developing a new model of the hydrocarbon potential of Armenia. The work is well advanced. A modern grid of seismic data is expected to identify new leads and prospects and these will be risked and ranked accordingly as potential exploration well targets.

 A program of 2D reflection seismic reflection surveying is scheduled to start in the Autumn of 2011.

Surface geochemistry surveying is also to be carried out using methods developed from mineral exploration. Individual elements are measured to a high degree of precision. A multiplicative type analytical process is then used to detect areas with hydrocarbon potential.

Data to assess the exploration potential of other licence blocks in Armenia is available in-house.

The experienced team in the Yerevan office are well-placed to evaluate other oil and gas opportunities in the region, e.g. in the CIS.

Renewable Energy

Armenia offers attractive opportunities in the renewable energy sector, particularly in the field of small scale hydroelectric projects. The company is assessing opportunities in the country.
